OUR STORY
The Art Shop began as a pop-up shop in Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, which ran from Halloween to Christmas 2018. The idea for the shop came from the need for an outlet in our small town for not only the local artistic and crafting talent that resides there, for also for the tools and materials that these artists might need. After the pop-up was a huge success, owner Aoife decided to take The Art Shop online.
The Art Shop allows customers access to a wider range of small, Irish-owned craft businesses in one place, where they can browse their best-selling items or order a custom handmade item for any occasion. The Art Shop also stocks a wide range of high-quality art and craft supplies, which can be purchased as the artist needs or can be bought in specially curated giftbox sets and starter kits. These box sets are perfect as gifts for children and adults alike, those who are just starting out on their creative journey or for the artist or maker who seems to have every tool needed!

Our environmental policy
The Art Shop is fully committed to impacting our natural environment as little as possible.
All of our packaging is either reused from other deliveries or recyclable, sourced from sustainable Irish-based suppliers. We always wish to keep our carbon footprint low, opting for 'the more local, the better' and only order from overseas when absolutely necessary.
We also use our national postal service An Post whenever we can, as this service is already on the road, delivering nationally every day. If you are receiving an order to the UK, we will use Royal Mail, who are also a national postal service who will be on the road regardless. For some overweight packages, or express deliveries, a courier service will be used so we will always encourage you to order well in advance.
Some of our art materials come delivered in plastic, or in unsustainable packaging, and unfortunately this is out of our control for the moment, though we are always striving to work with brands who have the same environmental ethos as we do. All products listed on this site are vegan friendly where possible, and we are always on the look out for more sustainable options.
